Commercial Truck or CT Electric vehicles were battery powered electrics and the initial models were 1/2-ton delivery vans and trucks up to 3-1/2-ton capacity. The larger CT trucks used General Electric motors geared to each dual-wheeled rear wheel.

By 1912, there were six different models ranging from 1/4-ton to 5-tons capacity. Worm drive was used on the one-ton CT truck from 1913. From 1915 to 1917, a 5-ton capacity gas-electric truck was also offered.

By 1921, the CT electric truck range included seven models from 1/2-ton to 6-tons capacity. The range of vehicles expanded further and, by 1928, CT Electric offered 12 different model types. However, the Commercial Truck Company was absorbed by the Walker Vehicle Company later in 1928.

Emblems

There are very few original period photos of the earliest Commercial electric trucks and the few I have seen do not appear to have an emblem.

It appears that the Commercial Truck Company was not that interested in clearly displaying their name on their trucks, as most original period photos of even later Commercial or CT electric trucks also do not show an emblem, see example shown below:

However, Commercial trucks and delivery vans would certainly have displayed the "Commercial Truck" name on small maker's nameplates and serial plates, similar to the example shown below. Commercial Truck Company nameplates and serial plates are rare.

The Commercial Truck Company name and the company logo would also have been displayed on the hubcaps.

The following is believed to be an early CT truck logo but I cannot confirm this.

If you have better details of this possible early CT truck logo, please let me know, in order to update this post.

The following CT truck logo was in use at least by 1912 and most probably earlier:

The following photo shows CT electric truck wheel with the CT logo visible on the hubcap:

I do not have a good photo of a Commercial Truck Co. hubcap showing the CT logo but it is likely to be similar to the following hubcap emblem used after the Commercial Truck Company was taken over by the Walker Vehicle Company but inscribed with the Commercial Truck Co. Philadelphia name:

Although, as stated earlier, most original period photos of CT trucks show no sign of an emblem, there are some exceptions, see the following example:

This logo is likely to be in the form of a brass logo script. This original photo is not very clear, but, although partly obscured, the CT logo script is more clearly seen on the following original photo from 1917:

Original CT script logo emblems would be extremely rare.

Commercial Truck Company gas-electric models using Latil-type hoods were known as C-T Electric Trucks and displayed the name "Electric" with the central letters "CT" in the form of the CT script logo on painted cast metal nameplates attached to the front and/or rear of the vehicle, see example below mounted on the front of a surviving 1915 CT Electric truck, which was converted to an electric bus in the 1940's:

A close-up showing the CT Electric nameplate is shown above at the top of this post and again below. This CT Electric nameplate is very rare.

The following CT emblem shown earlier is a hub emblem after the Commercial Truck Company was taken over by the Walker Vehicle Company in 1928. This CT Electric hub emblem is rare.
