BARNES

Barnes Motor Car Co. (1910)
Detroit, Michigan

This is a Barnes radiator script (1910)    sam
Size: 244 mm wide

H. C. Barnes was factory superintendent at the Anhut Motor Car Company but in September 1910, he took over the company and reorganized it as the Barnes Motor Car Company with plans to build a six-cylinder model, presumably the Anhut Six with a new emblem, and a four-cylinder Barnes model.

However, the Barnes company was bankrupt by November 1910. It is not known how many, if any, Barnes cars were actually built.

Emblem

The Barnes Six displayed the "Barnes" name on a brass Barnes Six radiator script, see example shown above. This Barnes Six radiator script is extremely rare.
