VIKING

Olds Motor Works (1929-1930)

Lansing, Michigan

This is a Viking radiator emblem (1929-1930)     mjs
Size: 60mm diameter    MM: D L Auld

The Viking was an 81 hp V-8 automobile introduced as an up-market companion car to the Oldsmobile (see Oldsmobile) and was offered in a variety of body styles. The emblem was a stylized "V" representing both the V-8 engine and the name Viking. The Viking was a fine car but the Great Depression resulted in serious problems for Oldsmobile and the Viking was discontinued at the end of 1930.

Emblem

The gold and black enamel Viking radiator emblem shown above is scarce.
