The Huffman Brothers began producing 1-ton and 1-1/2-ton trucks in 1919. Motor car production began in 1920.

The first Huffman car was a 55 hp six-cylinder touring car called the Huffman Six. Other body styles were offered from 1923. But the Huffman Brothers Motor Company suffered a series of setbacks in the form of requests for receivership and claims by creditors from as early as the summer of 1920 and again in 1921 and 1923. Finally, the Huffman Brothers gave up. The Huffman Six for 1925 had a fresh body style but was the last Huffman passenger car built. Total Huffman Six production was about 690 cars.

The Valley Motor Truck Company succeeded the Huffman Brothers Motor Company in 1926 but continued to build Huffman trucks from 1-1/2-ton to 4-ton capacity until 1927.

Emblems

The Huffman Six passenger car carried a blue and white enamel Huffman Six radiator emblem, see example shown above at the top of this post. This Huffman Six radiator emblem is extremely rare.

Emblem collectors should beware, as there are reproduction Huffman Six emblems, which look the same as the original but have shiny backs and no maker's mark or fixing arrangement.

The Huffman truck displayed the Huffman name cast into the top of the radiator, as shown in the illustration seen in the following Huffman truck advertisement:

It is believed that the Huffman truck radiator and emblem remained unchanged through the life of this truck.
